Meet Some Of Austin's Very Best Guides

Forged in the depths of Houston's city streets is the urban legend known as Smokin' Joe Fraser. Everywhere he goes, his reputation precedes him. He is all that is man, and all that is tour guide. When he isn't setting trends and pop/lock/dropping it, he is improvisationally setting stages ablaze at the Hideout Theatre on Congress Ave. Half of a decade in the pizza business has given him a comprehensive understanding of the symbiotic relationship between bread, tomato sauce, and cheeses of the world. Flawless, untouchable, and immaculate are the most commonly heard words when describing his skill as a karaoke commandant. So come, ride, and experience the self actualizing segway tours led by Smokin' Joe.

"I have lived in the Austin area for 13 years and am currently attending the University of Texas pursuing a degree in Radio-Television and Film with a focus in animation and digital motion graphics. Yes, I love to draw (and if you ask me, I'd say I'm quite good -- **that cheeky grin**) I'm also well versied in animation history...go ahead, book a tour and quiz me!"

"I am a native Houstonian, but I'm quickly becoming a proud Austinite who loves sharing her passion for our vibrant, eclectic city. I am currently a student at The University of Texas who loves running, traveling, playing the piano, and keeping it spicy with a little salsa dancing! My newest pastime includes segwaying through the city while teaching tourists (and even some Austinites) about some of the crazy things that “Keep Austin Weird!”

I'm an authentic Austinite through and through, and I have a fierce determination to keep this city weird (not that it needs much help). I was born here in 1987 and I recently graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in film. Allow me to utilize my costly-acquired skills by taking breathtaking photos of you in front of historic Austin monuments whilst we balance on Segways! With the help of my banjo, I will give you an unforgettable tour of the city and entertain you with some twangy tunes along the way. I also happen to be a beer enthusiast who enjoys puns, so finding a good pub in town will be the yeast of your worries. Book a tour with me and you'll be in for a truly weird Austin experience!

While earning my Master's of Advertising at the University of Texas, I was fortunate enough have a great job as Segway tour guide at SegCity for 2 1/2 years and am now the acting Manager. I am naturally attracted to and intrigued by people and their different personalities, backgrounds, and stories. As I have been able to teach people so much about the fascinating, and sometimes comedic, history of the majestic city of Austin, I have also gathered a great deal of knowledge from the guests on my tours. I've lived in almost all of the major cities in Texas, and can say with the utmost confidence that Austin is definitely the most unique and has the most character. Yes, you can say I am one of those people who is proud to be a Texan, and even more proud be an Austinite!

"As a native Austinite, I love nothing more than taking visitors and locals alike on a whirlwind tour of the best city in Texas! Add Segways to the mix, and you get one rip-roarin’ good time. Although I may have briefly left Austin out of necessity (for four years of college in Memphis, TN), I always knew I couldn’t stay away for long. When I’m not busy two-wheeling around downtown, you can find me interning at ZACH Theatre, hamming it up on stage, dabbling in bike commuting, playing lacrosse, or planning my next travel adventure to the fascinating far-reaches of the planet. Come on one of my tours and just try not to have fun on a Segway! See you out there . . ."

I'm currently a sophomore at Southwestern University, studying the art of Communication with a minor in Español (Ay Ay Ay!). I'm a newly initiated member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority, and may try to recruit you. I have spent the majority of my life performing in shows, with my favorite role of course being a Segway tour guide! Born and raised in Austin, I've never lived anywhere else and love showing visitors what keeps Austin weird. From the shopping on South Congress to the dining at Italian restaurants to swimming in Barton Springs, to feeding homeless people, to singing on the street for passersby, you'll find me in many different areas of downtown. I encourage you to pretend to be the paparazzi and take pictures of me around Austin, so I can feel special and change the connotation that the name "Lindsey" currently has in the tabloids/entertainment industry.
